Hey. I'm new to this forum but I've been helping out wherever The Big Prick has gone for about 2 months. It's been great seeing suburbs transform from a ghost town to a striving anti-zombie community and every step in between. But one thing that has bothered me is that The Big Prick doesn't even have it's own radio frequency! So I was wondering if I could start up a radio station at frequency 27.25 MHz. I will update this page when I find a suitable spot but I think this would be a good idea so we could get news about our group to others much, much quicker. Thank you.

Welcome aboard... I've got you in my contacts list and I'm sure the others will get to you soon. We've never bothered with radios and cell phones because (1) we tend to use whatever just happens to be in place, and (2) they reduce our payload of needles. When he formed the group, Swiers had never intended us to do about half of the things we do now (like repair buildings), so I guess we can talk about this and see who wants to carry a radio along. I probably won't bother, though... BTW, if you do start the radio station, make sure you format the "radio page" entry correctly -- I know the guy that maintains the page and he's one very pedantic dude Hey. I'm new to this forum but I've been helping out wherever The Big Prick has gone for about 2 months. I appreciate the time and energy it takes to maintain a station.
While I wouldn't use it for in-group coordination, it could help beginners to the group, and could be very helpful in recruiting and helping to let allied groups know we're in the area.
Having someone broadcast about our presence on a suburb, mall, or regional group frequency could also be very useful to our cause.

Finally, I set up my own radio station in Lerwill Heights at the Hayler Building. The frequency is 27.25 MHz, so get a radio and switch to The Big Prick's first ever dedicated radio station! I'll send out as much news as I can, so make sure to keep this forum and the page up to date. And please change the group's box to include the radio frequency in the contact box. Thanks and I look forward to giving information to all aspiring pricks!!
EDIT: By the way, is it in The Big Prick's rules not to get information from one character to give to another? Because it would be extremely convenient to have my firefighter scout out our operation areas and my Necrotech scientist broadcast on the air. Thanks.

Thanks for setting this up. I'll have to get a radio and listen in.
As to the alts, I don't see a problem with it. The rule is keep your alts leading independent lives. If you made them just to do those tasks, that's a no-no, but if they heard our broadcast asking for such help and occasionally helped out in addition to their other tasks, that's OK with me.

Sounds exciting! But I have no idea where to get a radio- I'm usually shlepping generators, I'm afraid.

The best place to get a radio is a Fire Department. It only receives though. To send you need a transmitter, placed in powered building.
I've been listening in. I'll post broadcasts here when I get the chance.

Hey Stuart I was wondering if you could put the radio frequency on The Big Prick's group page under contact. This would get more people listening in as I'm currently posting "Show zombies your prick! tinyurl.com/5rtxd6" all over Malton and those who are new to the group could tune in. Another thing is what kind of messages do you want me to broadcast? Just encouragement and the status of our operations and a general idea of how we're doing, or guides on what to do? Thanks.

the main wiki page is write protected and only asheets can update it.This is to protect it from vandalism. I feel it should be open to all to edit, as it needs a major oveerhaul, but that's another discussion best suited for more secure area of the forum.
The broadcasts will be very helpful in promoting our next operation, which is multi-group.

Swiers, our founder, originally locked the board to protect from vandalism. Swiers seems to be absent long term from the wiki, so I can probably offer you editing privileges. Let's open up another topic in the secure forum to discuss the particulars... the main wiki page is write protected and only asheets can update it.This is to protect it from vandalism. I feel it should be open to all to edit, as it needs a major oveerhaul, but that's another discussion best suited for more secure area of the forum. Can everyone on the forum put your UD profile link in the signature please? I have no idea who str8compton is in game for example.

Is this radio station still up? If so, I will tune my radio to it. Right now, I just listen to external military reports all the time.
